Olympic Math Problems

We have been writing number stories based on the Olympics.  Can you work out the answers - don't forget to tell us how you worked out your answer!

7 people were in the Olympics for rowing.  3 won. 
How many got left behind?

How many didn't fail?

If China have 12 gold medals and New Zealand have 3 gold medals.  What is the difference in the number of gold medals between the two countries?
