The Mystery Picture

We each had a small square of a bigger picture. We had to copy the picture making it larger and then match the colours using pastels - it was very tricky as we had to look very closely. Then we had to put the picture back together just like a jigsaw puzzle - good job the squares had numbers on the back.

Ivan's vist to the Tip Top Factory

A couple of weeks ago Ivan went on a trip to the Tip Top Factory with Mrs Osborne.  He took some photos from outside the factory as cameras were not allowed inside.
He had a great day and has put together a show of the day using Windows Movie Maker.  He was helped by Nasoni and Deago.

The Pohutukawa Tree

Crystal and Keshika read an article in a Junior Journal about the Pohutukawa tree. They then decided to find out more information after spotting what looked like a Pohutukawa tree opposite the school library. But from the information they had they knew it was flowering at the wrong time of the year. They tried to discover the answer to this problem. During their research they used books, the computer and experts Mrs Traill and Ms Mulrennan.

They then decided to present their work by putting together a movie using Windows Live Movie Maker. They planned the steps they needed to take and here is their end result.

A group of children were trying to teach Miss Lamb some Mandarin. Even though she tried her best they still laughed. They made a video to help her! Shirong, who only speaks Mandarin, is learning English much faster!

Mondrian Art

We looked at the work of the artist Mondrian. Then we copied his style and created our own pieces of art. We used horizontal and vertical black lines. Then we added the primary colours red, blue, and yellow - not forgetting to leave some white areas.
